Nice atmosphere at New Year's reception
The New Year's reception of the DPC and VIV was held in a pleasant atmosphere in a new location on January 8, 2025. We looked back on the old year and mainly discussed plans and new initiatives for the new year. After many years, the DPC and the VIV did not hold their joint New Year's reception in the Mereveld party center in Utrecht, but in the Oud London hotel-restaurant in Zeist. This switch certainly did not detract from the atmosphere and good care.
Chairman Jan Wolleswinkel welcomed a wonderful group of people from the poultry industry on Wednesday, January 8, and together they raised a toast to 2025. In the new year, various activities will be organized again to promote cooperation with and between the members. Janne van Rooij from Aeres Training Center in Barneveld and Theun van de Braak from Hendrix Genetics showed that they have taken the call for collaboration, expressed during the presentations at the end-of-year meeting, to heart. They presented the plan to organize training days for foreign customers (or their employees) of DPC members. After Barneveld College closed, that option was no longer available in our country and there was no good alternative. Under the name of the Dutch Poultry Training Program, they will hold a meeting on February 5 at 2 p.m. at the Poultry Expertise Center in Barneveld to discuss the possibilities and content of the training program with interested DPC members.
After this heart-warming presentation, Birgit Horn, Managing Director VIV worldwide, gave an overview of the trade fairs they will organize this year in Bangkok and Abu Dhabi, among others. She also hopes to meet many DPC members there to demonstrate the quality of the Dutch poultry industry. Her experience is that there is great international interest in technological developments in Dutch poultry farming and what is marketed through the industry.
