AgroWorld Qazaqstan 2026 has come to a close, and with it our week in Almaty as part of the Poultry Forward Kazakhstan project. Together with leading companies from the Dutch poultry sector, the delegation presented Dutch knowledge, technology and experience to Kazakh partners from 26 to 30 October.

This week, a Dutch business delegation is in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for AgroWorld Qazaqstan 2026. The visit is part of Poultry Forward Kazakhstan, a programme that connects Dutch knowledge and technology with Kazakhstan’s ambitions for a modern, efficient and sustainable poultry sector.

Suriname is confronting its first confirmed outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in commercial poultry, a development that marks a significant escalation in the country's animal health status and raises concerns across the Caribbean and South American regions.

On Wednesday 7 October 2026, Dutch Poultry Centre and the Rwanda Poultry Industry Association will host an interactive workshop during VIV Africa 2026 in Kigali: Supporting the Future of Rwanda’s Poultry Sector.

Our member JBT Marel is showcasing SingleFeed, a system designed to create a reliable flow of individual poultry products for downstream processing by automating the singulation of bulk products.

Azerbaijan has set an ambitious goal: a fully self‑sufficient poultry sector by 2030. Under a newly launched State Programme for Agricultural Production and Processing, Fisheries and Aquaculture for 2026–2030, the country aims to raise poultry meat output by 30 percent and egg production by 27 percent, lifting self‑sufficiency from around 80 percent today to a full 100 percent.

Avian influenza remains a growing threat to the global poultry sector. Millions of birds have been culled worldwide, and concerns about the potential impact on human health continue to rise. Fast, reliable diagnostics at the farm are therefore essential to detect outbreaks early and to implement control measures without delay.

Dutch Poultry Centre member Royal GD, together with Alveo Technologies, has developed an innovative solution: Alveo Sense. This diagnostic platform delivers laboratory‑grade avian influenza testing directly at the farm, without the need for a traditional laboratory or specialised equipment.

RaboResearch expects the global and European poultry meat market to remain broadly favourable in the second half of 2026, driven by strong demand for chicken. At the same time, several developments are increasing uncertainty, particularly in Europe. These include rapid growth in European supply, questions around Brazilian exports to the EU and ongoing volatility in feed and input markets.

This trade mission is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana and offers Dutch companies a unique opportunity to explore Ghana's fast-growing poultry sector up close.

On 1 July 2026, Dutch Poultry Centre welcomed colleagues, partners, and friends from across the poultry sector to the Pluimveemuseum in Barneveld for our annual DPC BBQ. Against the backdrop of this historic setting, the afternoon offered a relaxed and informal opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that keep our sector moving forward.

The poultry industry faces a growing challenge: finding skilled operators is becoming increasingly difficult worldwide, while the demand for precision and efficiency continues to rise. JBT Marel Poultry addresses this head-on with ATHENA, a groundbreaking, data-driven solution for chicken breast deboning.

During VIV Europe, the Dutch Poultry Centre officially launched the Partner International Business Program Poultry Forward Kazakhstan. Through this initiative, leading Dutch companies will showcase their innovative technologies and expertise for the poultry sector in Kazakhstan, with strong support from the Dutch government.

The participating companies are Trouw Nutrition, Royal Pas Reform, Vencomatic Group, Meyn Food Processing Technology B.V., Ottevanger and Impex Barneveld B.V.

On Wednesday 3 June 2026, Dutch Poultry Centre will host a dedicated seminar at VIV Europe 2026 in Utrecht, focused on the Kazakh poultry market and the official launch of the Poultry Forward Kazakhstan programme.

Dutch Poultry Centre will be present at VIV Europe 2026, taking place from 2 to 4 June at Jaarbeurs Utrecht. This year's edition is a milestone one, celebrating the 25th anniversary of VIV Europe, one of the most important gatherings in the global poultry and livestock sector. You can find us at booth 10.004, where our team will be ready to welcome members, partners, and new connections throughout the three days.

Our valued member VNU Group has appointed Natasha Hall as Vice President VIV Worldwide, marking an important step in strengthening the international VIV agrifood portfolio. The appointment comes at a defining moment for the VIV brand, with two major milestones approaching: the 25th edition of VIV Europe in Utrecht this June, and the inaugural edition of VIV Select India in New Delhi.

On April 16, Dutch Poultry Centre hosted its latest Marktcafé at the premises of Kanters Special Products in Lieshout. The event brought together poultry professionals for an afternoon of expert presentations, a facility tour, and informal networking. It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals and gain practical insights into one of the most underutilised tools in poultry health management: drinking water.

Ghana's Chicken4U programme is creating a new pathway for small-scale poultry farmers by scaling up access to improved dual-purpose chicks in remote rural areas.

Royal Agrifirm Group has reached an agreement to acquire Hamlet Protein, a global leader in specialty soy-based protein ingredients for young animal nutrition. The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks. Hamlet Protein is well known for its highly digestible soy-based ingredients that promote gut health and consistent early-life performance. Its patented technology ensures reliable quality, which is crucial for feed manufacturers. The company employs around 115 people, operates production facilities in Denmark and the United States, and has a sales office in China.

Foodmate, partner of Dutch Poultry Centre, has successfully completed a large-scale upgrade project at Pilgrim's, one of the world's leading poultry producers. The project involved upgrading every Foodmate OPTI Thigh Deboner across the entire Pilgrim's organization with a Kneecap Remover (KCR), delivering measurable improvements in yield, labor efficiency, and workplace ergonomics.

HatchTech Group, member of Dutch Poultry Centre, has announced the appointment of Ben Green as National Sales Manager USA. This strategic hire reinforces HatchTech's long-term commitment to the U.S. hatchery industry and marks another step in the company's ongoing expansion in North America.

On 18 March 2026, Dutch Poultry Centre brought together 28 participants at WUR Wageningen for its first Roundtable of the year: “The Strategic Edge – Technology as a Competitive Force.” With a full room, sharp discussions and strong interaction between the poultry and horticulture sectors, the afternoon underlined how relevant this theme has become.

On Thursday 16 April 2026, Dutch Poultry Centre is organising a new Marktcafé, hosted by Kanters Special Products BV in Lieshout. This Marktcafé will focus on the role of drinking water as an efficient route for supplements in modern poultry production.
