From 1 till 3 October 2024 Dutch Poultry Centre participated in VIV Africa exhibition.

VIV Africa is a prominent international trade fair that has focused on animal breeding and processing since its inception in 2017. The fair takes place at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) in Kigali, Rwanda.

With great admiration, a small group of DPC members enjoyed the Market Café on September 18 at Van Eck Industrial Hygiene in Son en Breugel. The company started in 1988 with cleaning and disinfecting industrial buildings and combating pests in poultry farming. Over the years, the fields have expanded to include the entire animal husbandry, horticultural sector, food industry, housing construction and governments.

The traditional DPC BBQ was held in beautiful sunny weather at the Poultry Museum in Barneveld on July 10. Attendees got to enjoy delicious snacks, to discuss the work of the DPC, and the ups and downs of the poultry industry. At the same time, topics like the new government and the European Championship football match between the Netherlands and England that same evening were also on the minds of many.

We have some great news to share. It’s with pleasure that we  announce Rick van Emous  will be joining DPC as a member of the board.  We’re delighted Rick is here! On behalf of our team we’d like to extend our warmest welcome and best wishes to Rick!

Thanks to his commitment to the poultry sector and Dutch society, Jan was appointed as Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau, by the mayor of Barneveld.

Dutch Poultry Centre (DPC) is een stichting van meer dan 100 toonaangevende bedrijven actief in de pluimveesector.  De missie van DPC is om de wereldwijde bekendheid, de goede reputatie en daarmee het supersterke imago van de gehele Nederlandse pluimveesector te bewaken en te clusteren tot één sterk merk. Dat doen we door verschillende activiteiten in Nederland en in het buitenland te organiseren en te fungeren als netwerkplatform voor al onze leden.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a loan of up to €37 million to Protix, the largest insect breeder in the world, based in Bergen op Zoom. The company, Protix, has declared its intention to allocate the funds towards building a new factory in Poland.

FarmResult is pleased with the arrival of Aalt den Herder. Richard ten Cate, owner of FarmResult B.V., and Aalt recently signed the agreement. This strategic move will enable FarmResult to respond even better to the needs of Dutch poultry farmers. This cooperation has already resulted in the development of a promising new product.

Traditionally, the DPC kicked off the New Year with a members’ meeting in The Mereveld farmstead in Utrecht. The New Year reception drew a lot of interest, including a delegation from China. It became the kick-off for a year packed with the necessary activities.

We, as Dutch Poultry Centre, had a conspicuous presence at the 4^th edition of VIV MEA in Abu Dhabi. To begin with, we had a stand aimed at informing visitors about the powerful position of Dutch poultry farming and the role of the Dutch poultry industry worldwide. We were frequently able to direct interested visitors to member companies that were also exhibiting at the trade fair. The glossy magazine Poultry NL, which we brought out last year featuring information about all our members, was also met with great interest.

During the fair, a variety of seminars were held, and DPC also had the opportunity to participate. Under the title ‘Dutch innovations for more profit of your poultry business’, representatives from a few Dutch companies, along with Jan Wolleswinkel as the moderator, also presented their viewpoints on the topic. There were short presentations by VDL Jansen Poultry, Moba BV, Orffa and Innovatec Hatchery Automation.

On May 1, 2023, Jean-Jacques Lacaux started working as General Manager of Fancom EURL, a subsidiary of Fancom BV in Vitré, France. Jean-Jacques is well acquainted with the French agricultural sector and has a great deal of knowledge of technology and automated farm processes. This knowledge comes from 28 years of experience in various executive technical and commercial positions in international companies that are active in the livestock industry.

This week we were shocked by the sudden death of our relationship manager Jan Hulzebosch. Since October 2017, Jan has maintained contacts between DPC, its members and external relations. We look back on that with great appreciation and we will miss Jan very much. Vencomatic Group (VMG), 31 May 2022, a family-owned supplier of innovative solutions for the international poultry industry, and Orbem, a leading deep-tech imaging and AI technology company, today announced a broad and long-term partnership to jointly market and provide the “Genus Focus” fully automated end-to-end system. The Genus Focus is an MRI-based high throughput non-invasive solution for in ovo sexing of poultry eggs of any breed.

Schothorst Feed Research (SFR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Kamphof as its new Director. As of 1 September, he will succeed Lieuwe Roosenschoon, who has indicated that he wants to retire after more than eight years in charge of SFR.

With Jan Kamphof (1964), SFR appoints an experienced manager with a passion for animal feed. Jan was born on a dairy farm and graduated in Zootechnics at the Agricultural University in Wageningen. During his career he gained international experience in sales, product development and business development at leading companies such as Cargill, DuPont de Neymours and ED&F Man.

GI-OVO has announced plans to open its first U.S. office location on January 1^st, 2024.

The Netherlands-based company is already producing its products in the U.S., however, the new office location will provide an opportunity for GI-OVO to become better established in the country and provide sales support.

Frank Zitman has been named Plant Manager for Chore-Time Europe’s Ede, Netherlands facility, according to Tina Streit, Vice President and General Manager of the CTB, Inc. business unit. In his new position, Zitman will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and safety of Chore-Time’s facility in Ede, Netherlands. He will also lead several groups, including metal production, customer fulfillment, logistics and warehouse, assembly, and supply chain and planning.

On June 7, 2023, the members of DPC were guests at the Aeres Group in Dronten. The Aeres Group offers HBO courses for the agricultural sector and one of the courses concerns the poultry sector.

We are happy to announce that the next Marketcafé will take place on 27 September 2023.  We will visit the DPC member company Foodmate. Originally we were going to visit Foodmate in 2020, but unfortunately that had to be canceled due to corona regulations. We look forward to this meeting now where the Foodmate team will show us their beautiful new company plant! The official invitation will follow after the summer holidays. We hope to see you all in September during this interesting event!

The supervisory board of ForFarmers announces that Theo Spierings has to resign from his position as CEO due to health reasons and personal circumstances. Mr. Spierings has consequently decided to terminate his one-year contract prematurely. The supervisory board has appointed co-director Pieter Wolleswinkel as CEO of ForFarmers, effective from 3 April 2023.
