Joint New Year’s Reception of DPC and VIV Worldwide in Zeist

The joint New Year’s reception of DPC and VIV Worldwide was held on Wednesday 14 January in a pleasant and collegial atmosphere at Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Oud London in Zeist. Many members and relations took the opportunity to meet and reconnect at the start of the new year.

DPC Chairman Jan Wolleswinkel opened the meeting with a welcome address and conveyed his best wishes to all those present. In his speech, he reflected on the rapid changes in the world and their impact on our sector. Whereas only a few years ago many suppliers still saw significant opportunities in Russia, that perspective has now completely disappeared.

At the same time, Wolleswinkel emphasised that the market for poultry meat and eggs remains strong. Despite critical voices in public opinion, sales and demand continue to grow, both domestically and internationally. According to the Chairman, it is important for the association to continue looking to the future with confidence.

He indicated that in the coming period DPC intends to actively strengthen its ties with agricultural counsellors in countries that are striving for greater self-sufficiency. “There is a clear role for our association in this,” Wolleswinkel stated. “Our joint participation in the trade fair in Kazakhstan has shown that this approach delivers mutual benefits.”

VIV Europe: meeting place for the sector

VIV Europe was also discussed in detail. The international trade fair, which will take place from 2 to 4 June in Utrecht, will once again place the Dutch poultry industry firmly in the spotlight this year. The exhibition serves as an important meeting place for members, partners and international relations.

New Exhibition Manager Patrick van Rooij expressed his confidence that VIV Europe will once again demonstrate why it is regarded as the showroom of the world, with a strong presence of leading companies from the sector.

Despite several organisational changes at VIV, Van Rooij looks ahead to the upcoming edition with confidence. He counts on the commitment and involvement of the entire sector to make VIV Europe 2026 a success.

The New Year’s reception concluded in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, with ample opportunity for networking over drinks and refreshments.
