Successful week in Almaty for Poultry Forward Kazakhstan

AgroWorld Qazaqstan 2026 has come to a close, and with it our week in Almaty as part of the Poultry Forward Kazakhstan project. Together with leading companies from the Dutch poultry sector, the delegation presented Dutch knowledge, technology and experience to Kazakh partners from 26 to 30 October.

A sector with clear ambitions

Kazakhstan’s poultry sector is developing quickly. The country wants to produce more of its own poultry meat and eggs, become more competitive and strengthen its food security. Reaching these goals requires modern technology, practical knowledge and international cooperation. Through Poultry Forward Kazakhstan, Dutch companies and knowledge institutions are contributing to that development.

Conference and networking

The week started with a cluster meeting on the progress of the programme. On 27 October, Wageningen University and Dutch poultry technology partners held a joint conference on integrated poultry production management, covering the full production chain, from feed and nutrition to hatchery management, processing and circular use of by-products. The day ended with a well-attended networking dinner.

The Netherlands Pavilion at AgroWorld Qazaqstan

From 28 to 30 October, the companies taking part in Poultry Forward Kazakhstan presented their solutions at the Netherlands Pavilion at the Atakent International Exhibition Centre. The pavilion was the venue for many meetings with Kazakh producers and businesses, as well as a seminar on Dutch poultry solutions.

We were honoured to welcome Nico Schermers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan, at the pavilion. His visit underlined the importance of cooperation between the Netherlands and Kazakhstan in agriculture and poultry production.

Looking ahead

The delegation is returning home with valuable contacts, good conversations and concrete ideas for the next steps. The week in Almaty marks an important moment in the project, but the work within Poultry Forward Kazakhstan continues. We will keep you informed about the next steps.

We would like to thank all participating companies, our partners in the Netherlands and Kazakhstan, and all visitors for making this week a success.
