Marktcafé at Van Eck Industrial Hygiene "We are fighters, not spreaders"
With great admiration, a small group of DPC members enjoyed the Market Café on September 18 at Van Eck Industrial Hygiene in Son en Breugel. The company started in 1988 with cleaning and disinfecting industrial buildings and combating pests in poultry farming. Over the years, the fields have expanded to include the entire animal husbandry, horticultural sector, food industry, housing construction and governments.
Van Eck's expertise has become known not only within these Dutch sectors, but also among the national government and companies and agencies in Belgium, Germany, France and even Ireland. The company's extensive expertise and certification in various areas of industrial hygiene and pest control means that it has acquired a preferential position with the government in the fight against animal diseases. Founder Paul van Eck would like to run a poultry company himself, but has his hands full managing three locations and 60 employees of his brainchild. The close-knit group of employees is passionate about the business and strives for optimal working conditions and results through its own research. During the tour of the company, it was impressive to see the resources they use to do their work. They often have to work in their own metalworking hall to make or adapt specific tools.
Dedicated and always available
Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance. The staff is dedicated and always available to assist if there is an emergency. Even if it is in Ireland. In that case, they can be on site within 24 hours (max. 48 hours) with full equipment, including the necessary freight and container trucks. "A lot is asked of our employees, but that does not prevent all these Dutch employees from committing themselves to the company for the long term," said Van Eck employee Martijn van der Velden during the company introduction. Partly due to their many years of commitment to sustainability and the environment, Van Eck Bedrijfshygiene B.V. recently officially recognized with the ISO 14001 certificate. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems that demonstrates that the company has fully integrated all sustainability principles into its daily operations to reduce and manage the environmental impact of its activities and that it complies with laws and regulations applicable to environment.
