With production facilities in 25 countries and sales in over 90 countries, Trouw Nutrition is Nutreco’s global animal nutrition brand. Trouw Nutrition R&D encompasses 5 research centres operating in the Netherlands, Canada and also Spain, where a dedicated Poultry Research Centre is situated. Nutreco will double its investment in R&D and innovation over the next years. Nutreco objective is to accelerate innovation in closer contact with customers and thereby bring technology faster to the market.
Global research network
The Trouw Nutrition research centres encompass a broad range of scientific disciplines, including nutritionists, veterinarians, animal physiologists, molecular biologists, microbiologists, immunologists, biochemist and technical engineers. In-house research by over 100 experts is complemented by more than 50 long-term research collaborations with leading universities and other research institutes. To further validate and test research results in practice, Trouw Nutrition has field research farms in many international key markets.
Feeding the future
Trouw Nutrition focusses its innovative strength on three areas: Life Start, Health & Welfare and Feed Efficiency. The company wants to play a central role in the improvement of the environmental footprint of the food industry and the use of technological advancements in animal nutrition to feed a growing world population. For the poultry sector this has resulted in several state-of-the-art products in three categories: custom-made premixes, feed additives and antibiotic-free animal health products. The Food Research Centre in Spain also develops new technologies for poultry meat processing. In addition, it invests in new meat products and sustainable packaging. Food safety is a key priority.
